Yvonne is currently the Chief Executive Officer at The Esplanade Company Ltd, where she is responsible for the overall management and programming direction of Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay. Yvonne was the Assistant CEO of Esplanade from 2014 – 2018.

Prior to joining the Esplanade in June 2014, Yvonne was the Deputy Chief Executive Officer at the National Arts Council (2010 – 2014). Yvonne once was the Director of Arts and Heritage Division at the then-Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts (now Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth). From 2002 – 2009, she was involved in the development of policies such as the Renaissance City plans, as well as the setting up of the School of the Arts, a pre-tertiary school for the arts, the Design Singapore Council, and the National Gallery. Yvonne had also worked at the Ministry of Manpower as the Assistant Director for Labour Relations and Welfare, and had taught literature at the Raffles Junior College.

Yvonne studied English as an undergraduate at the University of Cambridge, where she also completed her M.Phil in American literature. She has a MA in Art Business from the Sotheby’s Institute of Art.
