Born in 1963, Magdy Saber graduated from the Ballet School with excellent degree in 1982 and received his B.A. from the High Institute of Ballet with excellence in 1985 in addition to B.Sc. in commerce from the Cairo University in 1986. In 1987, he became staff member of the High Institute of Ballet, and then assistant teacher at the Ballet Choreography and Directing Department in 1996. In 2000, he received his PhD and was appointed teacher at the High Institute of Ballet and then became professor at the Ballet Choreography and Directing Department.

He was first dancer of the Academy of Arts Ballet Company and in 1998. He became first dancer of the Cairo Opera Ballet Company and then deputy of the Artistic Director of the Cairo Opera Ballet Company. Dr. Magdy Saber was the first Egyptian dancer to participate in Abu Simbel, the first ballet performance, presented at the Main Hall while celebrating the inauguration of the Cairo Opera House.

His repertoire includes title roles in the ballets performed by the Cairo Opera Ballet Company like Don Quixote, Giselle, The Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, Antonio and Cleopatra and Le Corsaire. Since 1998 he became choreographer and trainer of the Cairo Opera Ballet Company. He choreographed several works at the Cairo Opera Company like Operetta Scheherazade, One Thousand and One Nights Ballet, Egyptian Night and Operetta El Leila El Kebira with the late Dr. Abdel Moinem Kamel. Magdy Saber choreographed the dances of many dramaworks for the public and private sector, national celebrations (the celebration of the October victory held at the Air Force Stadium in 2013), major TV programs, the inauguration of the Egyptian Film Festival, Children’s Film Festival, Arab Music Conference and Festival for ten years, the Inauguration Ceremony of the Egyptian Media Production City, the Opening Ceremony of the International Handball Championship held at the Cairo Stadium Indoor Hall and the Opening Ceremony of the International Football Championship for Youth held at the Cairo Stadium. He is member of the committee responsible for choosing the ballet dancers of the Cairo Opera Ballet company.

He toured with the Cairo Opera Ballet Company in France, Russia, Germany, United Arab of Emirates, Syria, Tunisia, Lebanon, China, USA and Austria. He is currently teacher at the Egyptian and Kuwaiti ballet institutes. In March 2017, he was appointed Director of the Artistic House of Music, Opera and Ballet and since January 2018, he became Chairman of the Cairo Opera House.
