As executive Director of the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra Foundation since 2005, Marcelo Lopes is an economist, lawyer, public manager and musician. He also holds a specialization in Public Management from São Paulo School of Administration and a Master in Business Law from the São Paulo Law School, both of Fundação Getulio Vargas. At the age of 19 years old, he joined the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra as a trumpeter, in 1984. By the invitation of the Board of Trustees, he led the structuring process of the institution since its beginning. The OSESP Foundation is considered one of the best Brazilian cultural projects nowadays. As a cultural manager, he has worked in lectures and conferences all over Brazil and abroad, focusing on management model of cultural institutions and symphony orchestras.
