Musicologist, theatre and music manager, Anna Maria Meo, has been the General Manager of the Teatro Regio di Parma and the Artistic Director of the Festival Verdi since 2015. She has also been a board member and the President of Opera Europa since May 2021.

Meo graduated from the University of Siena, before attending the Specialization Course for Music Organizers at the Centro di Didattica e Sperimentazione Musicale in Fiesole. During this time, she participated in internships at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and the Royal Opera House - Covent Garden in London.

Following these educational experiences, Anna Maria Meo served as the Manager of the Fondazione William Walton from 1989 to 2000. Early in this time period, from 1990-1992, she was also the Production Director of the Mozart-Da Ponte Project, at the Ente Teatro Romano of Fiesole. Then, from 1995 to '98, she served as the Artistic Secretary of the Wexford Opera Festival, before becoming the Administrative and Managing Director of the Centro Tempo Reale in Florence, directed by Luciano Berio, from 1998 to 2003. From 2004 to 2006, she then went on to lead the the Research Unit in the field of sound processing within the Media Innovation Unit, while also serving as the Head of Cultural Projects Firenze 2010 – then callled Firenze Futura, from 2004 to 2009.

Since 1994 and for almost twenty years she has been active in the prose sector as Managing and Administrative Director of the Teatro Del Carretto.
