ZHANG Xinyue

ZHANG Xinyue is the third-generation successor of MEI Lanfang, national first-class actor, graduate student of the Department of Performance of the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts, and winner of the Plum Blossom Award.

She specializes in Qingyi and Huashan, versed in both civil and military plays. She is prominent at building the characters of different ages or at various times. She has played many classic roles, such as YANG Yuhuan, LIN Daiyu, Xishi, Diaochan, Consort Yu, WANG Zhaojun, MU Guiying, BAI Suzhen, CHENG Xue'e, XIE Yaohuan, DU Shiniang, Magu, LI Tiemei, and SONG Ailing.

She has performed in the countries and regions including U.S., Germany, France, Britain, Finland, Spain, Canada, Ireland, Austria, Albania, Kenya, South Korea, and Japan, as well as Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan of China. She has performed in world-class performance halls including the John F. Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts, the Kodak Theatre, and Musikverein. Her artistic achievements are internationally-renowned.

She was invited as host or judge by CCTV, various local TV stations, the NCPA, and served as a lecturer at many universities, Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Fudan University.

ZHANG Xinyue is a member of the Beijing Youth Federation, representative of the People’s Congress of Fengtai District in Beijing, and member of the China Theatre Association.
