Almost exactly a year after his RPO Music Director debut at the BBC Proms in August 2021, Vasily Petrenko returned to conduct the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the “world's greatest classical music festival”.

On Tuesday 16 August the Orchestra, joined by trombone soloist Peter Moore, RPO performed a programme which included centenary composer George Walker’s Trombone Concerto, Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring and Sergei Prokofiev’s Symphony No.5. This is the final BBC Proms 2022 concert after the huge success of RPO’s Gaming Prom on 1 August.
