In October, Osesp takes the Amazon Forest and the music of Heitor Villa-Lobos to Carnegie Hall in New York. This is the first time a Brazilian orchestra has been invited to the official season of this historic stage. With the Regent of Honor Marin Alsop on the podium, Osesp will do two concerts.

On the 14th, Osesp plays Rimsky-Korsakov’s Sheherazade, and three Villa creations: the Prelude of the Brazilian Bachianas No. 4, the Concert for Harmonica with Jose Staneck as soloist, and the Choirs No. 10 with the Osesp Choir.

On the 15th, it’s the New Yorker audience’s turn to dive into Foresta Villa-Lobos, a tribute to Brazilian nature and culture. The works of Brazilian greatest composer will be in dialogue with works by Clarice Assad, Edino Krieger, Almeida Prado, Tom Jobim, Marco Antonio Guimarães and Philip Glass. The music will be in the company of a visual project created by Marcello Dantas, with images recorded on Amazonas, in Bonito and Pantanal. Soprano Camila Titinger joins the Orchestra and Chorus.

Still in the USA, Osesp plays on the 10th in Kansas City, Missouri, and on the 12th in North Bethesda, Maryland.
